“It’s the time of the year when we celebrate the work of midwives everywhere. IDM is a day of celebration, but also of highlighting how important the work of midwives is globally. This year, we are shining a light on the role midwives play in addressing the greatest health challenge of our time – climate change. #IDM2024 is both a celebration and a call to action for our planet and for midwifery.”
A message from the President of the ICM, Sandra Oyarzo Torres
We would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to our CFK midwives in Australia, Shea and Jacqui, and specifically to the Kiriwinan midwife, Linesse, who is currently working at Losuia HC. We cannot thank you enough for the tireless efforts and dedication you put into your work every day.
We are proud of Linesse’s retired colleague, Bokawau, who is now a respected leader among the VBAs and the community. Bokawau provides valuable knowledge and experience to the VBAs and is doing a wonderful job of connecting the LHC and the CFK VBAs. We are blessed to have such amazing midwives and out wonderful VBA’s who go above and beyond to serve our community. Thank you for all that you do!
