We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers who have made this journey possible. Despite the challenges posed by the lack of transportation due to the absence of flights to Kiriwina, which resulted in a treacherous long boat journey, we have successfully completed many stages and covered miles to ensure that the donations reach their destination safely. We are thrilled that our partnership with MBPHA is providing us with a secure facility at the LHC to store and distribute these life-saving donations. This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team. Well done!

Pictured above, our beloved Health Care Worker Jansen Toposona (header image), and our dear family and CFK friends, Nelson Toposona (Jansen’s brother) and David Antonio, have passed away in the past five years. They are deeply missed and forever loved.

Our trip was a huge success! We were hit by a wave of nostalgia today as we reminisced about our CFK VBA training sessions on this day 2018. It is amazing to see how these targeted strategies have had a profound ongoing impact on our VBAs, which has helped them achieve stellar results. We want to extend a huge shout-out to everyone who was involved in making those training sessions a success. It’s incredible how this training can have such a positive impact for all Kiriwinans.!!!!

Eight boxes filled with your donations have been sent to Kiriwina to support those in need. The birthing and dignity kits, pencils and sharpeners for the schools, signage for the new CFK office in the LHC, knitted and sewn baby items, birthing record books, and more are finally on their way to Kiriwina. With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jansen Toposona, on Friday 13th, 10pm. Jansen was a former Health Extension Officer and retired public servant who worked with the Health Department. He operated the only dispensary clinic in the largest village on Kiriwina, Kavataria, that helped hundreds of people over the years with his experience and expertise. Jansen was an expert in acupuncture, and CFK had provided him with hundreds of acupuncture needles that he used to assist many people in recovering from pain and illness. His passing is a significant loss and he will be greatly missed.

Our CFK VBAs are off to a great start in their new office and we couldn’t be more excited! We are absolutely thrilled to receive photos and videos from their first leaders meeting. Seeing our team working together in this new space is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing these moments with us!
