CFK continues to support our clean drinking water project by supplying our plumber with the support required for the upkeep of our 7 water pumps situated across the Island. Attempting to deliver a constant source of clean water to the Kirwina Secondary School students and the main village and 6 other villages. Many more water pumps need to be installed.

Photos of the recent repairs to the Kavataria village water pump. The plumber has also recently fixed Oyabia/Rabesi water pump as well. KSS and Kuluwa water pumps require parts to be restored.

The Belrose knitters keep themselves very busy knitting for Kiriwina and are so happy to bring smiles to the faces of the little Kiriwinan kids. Our other lovely ladies from St Ives sewed beautiful little dresses and are overjoyed to know they are so appreciated.

Thank you so much Norma (sitting in front) and the rest of the beautiful Belrose Knitters and the lovely ladies from St. Ives.

The mothers and babies on Kiriwina are really looking forward to receiving them 🙌.

Photo of baby Tomakam yesterday. The growth is growing at a fast rate since the operation. Specialist surgery is needed. The hospital will review and advise next course of action at Port Moresby General Hospital or Lae General Hospital.

News update 22/8/8: Baby Tomakam had an X-ray yesterday and his doctor will determine whether to undergo an operation or not. More updates will be informed as soon as I receive updates from Alotau.

One month old Baby boy Tomakam was born with a growth around his right eye. He was delivered by the Caring for Kiriwina Kavataria village VBA’s.

The parents are desperately in need of financial assistance to take the baby to Alotau Provincial Hospital for further review and tests before an operation is carried out.

The boy’s family needs further financial assistance for medical costs, transport costs and other associated costs.
