Photo of Rebecca and her parents and guardian (CFK sponsored student from Kilivila 1 Circuit) who passed her grade 10 exams and was selected to attend Aiyura National High School in Eastern Highlands Province (EHP) to do her grades 11 and 12 studies. CFK has encouraged her parents to give support to Rebecca and allow her to continue her studies out of Kiriwina.

Both parents were illiterate and for Rebecca to make it to Grade 11 is a really a great achievement for the family.

The parents expressed their appreciation to the CFK donor for assisting to pay Rebecca’s school fees, (thank you Lyn W xxx). Our In-country manager met with Rebecca in Port Moresby and assisted her to travel to her new school in EHP.

PNG free school fees policy has changed between 2020-21. As you can see in this PNG facts news article CLICK HERE the PNG Marape/Steven government has introduced a fee for parents of 37% of the cost of schooling which equates to (for Kiriwina Secondary School) $150AUD for Day students and $220AUD for Boarding students.….

We have managed to send funding for some of our 20 students for the first 6 months of the 2021 year, however, we need more support :). We have 14 boarding students: Dorcas, Talitha, Rebecca, Olive, Jane, Benny, Shekinah, Rebecca, Masory, Isaac, Sylvia, Edward, and Matthew. If one of these students is your student or if you would like to pay the second half of their 2021 school fees please donate at either of these links.

Only $125 AUD will support one student for one whole year of their school life. We have 14 out of the 20 students supported in 2020 continuing their schooling who need your support and another 6 students who have become eligible to receive the graduate grants.
