Caring for Kiriwina is seeking two experienced and registered nurse midwives to join our team based at Losuia Health Centre, Kiriwina, MPB. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in enhancing maternal health care services on Kiriwina Island. The successful applicant will be employed by the Caring for Kiriwina charity organisation and also be required to work collaboratively with the Losuia Health Clinic.
Key responsibilities include
- Provide support to the Community Based Volunteer Birthing Assistants (VBAs) across the island, including coordination of distribution of donated birthing supplies
- Provide quarterly reports on births
- Conduct training and information sessions for the VBAs on Kiriwina and in Alotau aimed at improving healthcare practices within the community.
- Provide maternal healthcare and assist in delivering newborns at the Losuia Health Centre and in surrounding villages
Qualifications:
- Must be a registered nurse midwife with relevant midwifery experience.
- Strong commitment to maternal and child health.
- Ability to work collaboratively with local health volunteers and staff.
- Must be eligible to work in PNG.
