Thanks to the generous support of teacher Sue Potter and students from St Vincents College Potts Point another 400 birthing Kits are winging their way to Kiriwina. These birthing kits are essential basic requirements needed to provide a clean and safe birthing environment for the women on Kiriwina and they help reduce the incidence of infant and maternal morbidity and mortality. These birthing kits assist the Kiriwian women who give birth in the most challenging of situations, isolated with poor transport and have little or no assistance during childbirth, giving birth at home. By providing a clean birthing kit these mothers have the resources to reduce infection. Thank you so much to Sue and her team.
