More birthing kits, dignity kits and other donations have arrived on Kiriwina!

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of P&O-Carnival, including the logistics team, Ship security officer, Tom, and Crew, the much-needed contributions have reached their destination safely.

Caring for Kiriwina representatives, Daniel and our VBA team were at the beach to take safe possession of the bags, which will be equitably distributed and gratefully received.

Just in, we’ve received heartwarming photos capturing the safe delivery of all our treasured donations by the incredible crew and passengers on the latest P&O cruise that docked on Kiriwina yesterday. We are immensely grateful for their support and commitment to making a positive impact.

We also want to extend our best wishes to the passengers on the P&O cruise departing from Brisbane today, along with our donated supplies. Please note that our medicines are travelling separately. Our incredible knitters and chemist contributors have done it again! P&O Cruises Australia is generously delivering the latest batch of donations, including pens for the school’s yearly exams, which are in desperate demand. We’re also overjoyed to have received more baby clothes from the generous ladies at Belrose Country Club and St. Swithun’s Church Pymble. Thank you for all your unwavering support for the women and children of Kiriwina🙌👏 . Ample supply of medicines from the excellent Pharmacy Select Balgowlah is being delivered by alternative methods.

We are thrilled to announce that after a year-long hiatus of delivery in services, CFK has partnered with the Milne Bay Public Health Authority and the Losuia Health Centre to launch the Losuia Health Centre and Caring for Kiriwina Mobile Health Clinic, starting on October 9th, 2024. This joint clinic will provide medical services to remote villages across the island and surrounding islands by sea. This initiative was made possible through the partnership between our Milne Bay Public Health Authority and the Losuia Health Centre, our donors and supporters, and our Caring For Kiriwina representatives on the island. The sections that will be visited are Kilivilia 1 & 2, Kumboma, Kulumata, Luba, Sinaketa, Kaduwaga, and Kitava. Best of luck to everyone involved! Stay tuned for more updates 🙂
