We’re thrilled to announce that our mobile health clinics have successfully completed their first visits to expectant mothers on the island! After a year-long pause due to funding challenges, they’re back and ready to serve our communities.

Midwives from the Louisa Health Centre, along with our dedicated Village Birth Attendant (VBA) coordinator, have reached mothers, babies, and VBAs in remote villages.

We celebrate this significant milestone and recognise all who contributed to making this possible. This is just the beginning of our journey!

It was wonderful to catch up with these incredible women. Jacqui recently returned from an assignment supporting Midwifery in rural remote locations, including Ceduna, South Australia, after spending time in Katherine in the NT. What an inspiration! Great news from Kiriwina! Thanks to the amazing collaboration between the CFK VBA network and Losuia Health Centre, a potentially risky birth situation with retained placenta was successfully averted. The quick response and efficient work of our CFK VBAs, CHP Sinaketa, and the Losuia Health Centre ensured a safe delivery for the mother and baby boy, pictured above. A big shoutout to everyone involved for their hard work and dedication!
